When police discover a 2-year-old dead in a closet, they are devastated by what they discover next to her body.

According to authorities, both youngsters were living in “extremely unhealthy” conditions and had lice.

In addition to two other accusations of neglect related to the dangerous environment for their other children, Perez and Hirschy are now each facing one count of neglect resulting in death.

The two are still being held at the Adams County Jail after making their first court appearance on Wednesday.
