Explosion kills 7-year-old, second body finds In Newcastle

Newcastle emergency services got an explosion report on Oct. 16.

The catastrophe killed 7-year-old Archie York. After Violet Close’s three Benwell homes were destroyed, a 30-year-old man’s body was found.

Six additional people were hospitalized, and no one is missing. The rest live with friends and family.

“It is with great sadness that I stand in front of you today following the tragic death of a young child,” Superintendent Darren Adams said from the scene. A seven-year-old youngster died in the early morning event.

His terrible death at the spot despite rescue services’ attempts.

“This is devastating.”

“I know Elswick, Benwell, and our region will want to offer family and friends condolences. I cannot comprehend their pain.”

 

The family of the deceased seven-year-old considers him “a lovely lad.”

“My nephew Archie was the most beautiful, funny, and caring little boy—his name should be shouted from the rooftops! The family is “devastated and heartbroken beyond words” and adores him, according to his aunt Abbie York.

The two victims’ families are in our thoughts and prayers.
