Body language expert draws into Melania Trump’s ‘revealing signals’ as husband Donald claimed triumph in US presidential race

Melania Trump’s nonverbal clues during her husband Donald Trump’s inauguration as president-elect have been remarked on by an expert.

Only a few hours ago, predictions were that Trump will take home the three most important states in the US: North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. But he was able to get more than 270 votes thanks to his win in Wisconsin.

After the Republican Party took control of Pennsylvania on Wednesday morning (November 6), Trump strode to the stage at the campaign headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, to announce his win. He will become the 47th president of the United States in January 2025.

“I will fight for you every day with every breath I have,” he promised his fans. I will not rest until we have provided the United States of America’s youth with the robust nation they rightfully deserve.

You are entitled to it, too. What seems like America’s golden age is about to begin. The number of Senate victories was staggering, and the races were quite close.

Along with the president, members of Trump’s family such as Melania, Barron, and Ivanka took the stage.

In an interview with Paddy Power Games, body language expert Judi James said that the 54-year-old Melania radiated “confidence” and “power” whenever she was onstage with her husband.

Trump walked out to make a pose, seeming little taken aback, just before he was set to enter the stage. As his right hand gently pounded the air, “his face seemed puckered in a moment of inner emotion”—as described by James.

“It was Melania, in a businesslike grey power suit and the towering Barron who flanked Trump exhibiting the body language signals of strength and support.”

It was clear from Trump’s posture next to his wife, who was supposedly “promoted to a star in her own right,” that he “seeks support and strength,” to use James’s words.

“Trump’s gesticulation and touch rituals with her gave the impression that he seeks support and strength from her rather than the other way round,” as per the specialist.

“In contrast to Trump, Melania was smiling widely, her cheeks curved with joy and pride, and her teeth showing in her smiles—both her upper and lower teeth.”

The two even embraced on stage as Trump lauded Melania for her “number one best-selling book” in the US.

His intention was to give her a congratulatory hug, so he turned to face her. Just before Melania and her husband docked, there was a moment that seemed familiarly awkward, but she stood firm by raising both hands in support.

The most striking display of Melania’s “power and confidence,” as described by James, was when she placed her arm over Trump’s back.

“Another telling sign of Melania’s authority and self-assurance was when she reached out to take a hold of Trump’s shoulder and guide him back to the podium,” she said.

“A last indication of the changed power dynamic between Trump and Melania occurred when another man got on stage and Trump reached over to his wife, gently putting his fingers into her hand as a little child does when it needs reassurance from its mother.”

Trump will take the oath of office again in January of 2025, marking his second term in office.
