Jo Rogers is an adventurous woman who enjoyed hiking, nature, and her dogs. However, after being introduced to Natural Falls State Park near the

wife was so drowsy that “she wasn’t making any sense,” Keith claimed, so he rushed her to the emergency department even though she originally refused to go to the hospital, believing
She was suffering from a severe case of the flu. Doctors performed a series of tests on her as her condition worsened, including tests for West Nile Virus and meningitis.
Jo Rogers suffered a nasty infection from an undiscovered tick bite. They later established that she had problems from
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF), but she was already developing gangrene on her limbs. “She was shaking her hands because they hurt, her feet hurt,” recalled
Rogers’ cousin, Lisa Morgan. “Her hands and feet were turning dark blue and black. It was creeping up her limbs,” she explained.
The 40-year-old mother-of-two from Shawnee, Oklahoma, had to had substantial parts of both arms and both legs amputated owing to the dangerous infection. Her husband clarified,
“Her hands and feet started turning black, and the blood flow to her limbs stopped when things started to go wrong and she entered septic shock.”
“They had to cut off her right leg just above the knee, her left leg just below the knee, and both her arms about mid-forearm.”
Rocky Mountain spotted fever only needed one small bite to enter the woman’s circulation and cause severe damage to her body.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, RMSF is a potentially lethal disease spread by ticks and is brought on by the bacteria
Rickettsia rickettsii. The symptoms — fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and rash — can mimic a lot of viruses.
The intensity of Jo Rogers’ case may be exceptional, but these illnesses, regrettably, are not. Since medicines can effectively cure Rocky Mountain spotted fever, the disease no longer kills many

Keith Rogers visited his wife every day at the hospital as she battled other consequences from RMSF, including blood clots in her lungs that necessitated a tracheotomy.
“There is a new challenge every day,” he stated. I enter, take a seat, chat with her, and show her photos of our two boys’ progress.
I play recordings of her two pets at home for her. I make an effort to keep things normal, but it becomes really difficult since she will want me to stay, and I can’t take her with me.
Jo Rogers is fortunate that her family is supporting her and ensuring she has everything she needs to get through this trying time.
Jo’s cousin Lisa Morgan informed her that even though the change will be difficult, “you’re still with us, you’re going to get to watch your boys grow up, and you’ve got a lot of people pulling for you.”
Even though her recuperation was incredibly difficult, Jo Rogers has since returned home. Jo is thankful for her life and strives to be self-sufficient. All of the cards, remarks,
Prayers, well wishes, and kindness from everyone brought her to tears. She feels that her strength to work so hard has come from the love and support of friends, family, and complete strangers.
Her family and friends are simply happy that she survived, despite the fact that she needs a wheelchair to get around.
Even though she is no longer able to do everything she used to be able to, her boys are undoubtedly grateful to still have their mother. It’s encouraging to see that this
Woman has a strong support network in place as she transitions to life outside of the hospital, even if no one could possible comprehend what she is going through at the moment.
