Spencer Wright’s little baby Levi died unexpectedly.
The 3-year-old died of brain injury after a near-drowning on May 21.
Levi used a tractor toy and fell into a river. He was hospitalized in Salt Lake City. Local cops discovered Levi unconscious a mile downstream.
Following brain death, Levi exhibited signs of recovery.
Levi awoke! Shaken, we don’t know much, but the doctor said I may be excited, so I am! My child is difficult!” His mother Kallie Wright posted on Facebook.
MRI results the following day “weren’t good.”
Images convey a particular quality of life, yet we’re broken. Kallie assured Levi’s conduct over the following four days would tell the tale.
His battle continued while family and friends prayed for his recovery.
The family had a tough dilemma.
“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world’s best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” she wrote. Levi demonstrated enough to buy time. We assumed he was overcoming obstacles and indicating he wanted to stay, but now we know he wanted to give us time to accept his departure.”
The family removed Levi off life support after scans, testing, and medical advice.
Levi’s tragic demise was confirmed by family friend Mindy Sue Clark.
I cannot convey how terrible the previous two weeks have been. My phone rang the night of his accident until last night’s notice that he had to leave. Despite feeling like someone snatched my heart and squeezed it in front of me, I don’t want to concentrate on the dreadful or unhappy. We saw several miracles in those 12 days.
“The best three-year-old ever. Perfect—we couldn’t keep him. This small youngster moved mountains in 12 days. He united many. A child brightened a dark world. He parents could have wanted nothing more.”
Our sympathy for this sad loss. Levi, relax.
