On social media, Jennifer Garner revealed that her father, William John “Billy” Garner, had died gently on Saturday. He was 85 years old. Texas A&M University is where William obtained his chemical engineering bachelor’s and master’s degrees. His next employer was Union Carbide.
Jennifer, her sisters Melissa and Susannah, and their mother Pat were very proud of their father after more than 60 years of marriage. “My dad died in peace on Saturday afternoon,” Jennifer wrote with a great deal of sorrow. We sang “Amazing Grace” together before he left. He was 85 years old and had a long, healthy life. Although his death is not terrible, I know that I will be grieving.
She thanked her father for his “kind nature and quiet strength” and the medical staff at Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope for their care. According to her, “My sisters and I will always talk about how great my dad was,” referring to his legacy.
Her mother, Patricia Ann Garner, grew up on a farm close to Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Jennifer’s parents celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on January 1, 2024. She added, “Happy 59th wedding anniversary to my loving and sweet parents!” as a way to express her gratitude for their support and affection. I’m grateful to my parents for giving my sisters and I a happy and secure upbringing.
