Tragic events befell actress Sharon Stone once again almost eighteen months after her nephew River’s death from “total organ failure” at the tender age of eleven months. Patrick, her 57-year-old brother, died after a heart attack on Sunday morning in Pennsylvania.
On Monday, Stone took to Instagram to reveal her brother’s passing and share heartfelt tribute photos of the two of them.
With the caption “RIP my brother Patrick Joseph Stone,” the actress from Basic Instinct published her photograph on social media.
Another Instagram user who shared her sadness at Patrick’s death was his wife Tasha.
My heart feels like someone has sliced its strings. Near three o’clock in the morning, Patrick left to be with our beautiful River.
He left me three beautiful children, whom he loved and treasured, she said.
“He never missed an opportunity to tell me how much he cared for me and how important I was to him…” He was perfect for me the second I saw him. I had an immediate connection to him, and we drove each other crazy for twenty years while loving one other so totally. I am at a loss for what to do in the absence of my best friend.
The only consolation, according to Tasha, was that Patrick had a happy last few days.
Just picture it: our almost perfect day was meant to be treasured, so that each time I think of him, I am flooded with love and delight, and he could find solace in the fact that he was beloved.
Even if that was the cause of his death, I still won’t believe it. Twenty years may seem like a long time, but it wasn’t long enough to satisfy my need for an everlasting connection with him. Our combination was flawless. We were there for one other during the good times and the bad.
Stone added that the fact that three lives were spared by River’s organs was the thing that comforted them the most during their grieving after his death in 2011, one month before his first birthday.
“Our family found sanctuary in the fact that my godson was able to save three lives—two infants and a 45-year-old man,” she said at the time to People.
Donating organs has helped save our lives and the lives of those we care about, but you never know when tragedy may befall you or your loved ones.
“A lot of people have a lot of different opinions on this, but ultimately, it brought us some serenity.”
Rest in peace, Patrick. You and your beloved child are back together again.
